About Susan

Once upon a time, I was busy raising a family and running a successful custom weaving studio in Seattle. But at some point it wasn’t enough. I yearned not just to provide people with wonderful objects, but also to help them feel wonderful on the inside—more energetic, healthier, more positive. When the mother of a childhood friend pointed out I’d always been interested in taking vitamins and eating well, I knew I’d found my next big thing. I signed up for nutrition classes at Bastyr University in 1994 and never looked back.

A graduate of and faculty member of Bastyr College in Kenmore, Washington, I am licensed by the Washington state Department of Health. I offer a wealth of experience in nutritional planning, supplements, and simply what works and what doesn’t. I’m also a dynamic lecturer at workplace seminars and public wellness events. 

I’m a co-author—with my friend and colleague Dr. Lisa Price, ND — of  “COOKING THROUGH CANCER TREATMENT TO RECOVERY” Simple, Nourishing, and Flavorful Recipes to Prevent and Decrease Side Effects at Every Stage of Cancer Therapy published by Demos Health, an division of Springer Publishing.
