Disease Warning Signs and Symptoms Different for Women:
Since
women's symptoms of a heart attack are often less
severe than a men's, many women don't realize they
are having a heart attack. The symptoms don't necessarily
last a long time and the pain may not be extremely
dramatic. The characteristic pain down the left arm
with men, is often absent with women. Without immediate
medical care, the heart can suffer permanent damage.
- Uncomfortable
pressure, fullness, tight squeezing or pain in the
center of chest, lasting more than a few
minutes.
- Pain
spreading to the shoulders, neck or arms.
- Chest
discomfort, with nausea, sweating, shortness or
breath, fainting or lightheadedness.
Get
help fast, even if symptoms go away. If you
